Athletics

The installation of a Daktronics live video display at Grosse Pointe South High School’s Multi-Sport Athletic Field.  This advanced technology will provide several features like showing the score, instant replay, and connectivity to Hudl, an application to review game footage and improve team play.  The live video display will enhance the overall experience of the athletes and spectators by providing up-to-date information about the game and allowing them to relive key moments through instant replay.

Moreover, the Daktronics live video display will also serve as an educational tool for broadcast students.  They will have the opportunity to learn how to use the technology and gain valuable experience in broadcasting live sports events.  The curriculum component will allow them to develop their skills and gain a better understanding of the complexities of live broadcasting.

This project aims to create a state-of-the-art facility that will benefit not only the athletes and spectators but also the students who will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills. The Daktronics live video display will elevate the level of competition and create a more immersive experience for everyone involved.

District Instrument Refresh

Arts

This project involves a musical instrument refresh that will benefit many kids throughout the entire school district. The project aims to provide students with high-quality musical instruments that are in good condition and properly maintained.

Playing musical instruments has been shown to have many benefits for students, including improved cognitive function, better academic performance, and increased creativity. By providing students with access to musical instruments, this project will help to promote these positive outcomes and support the overall well-being of students across the district.

The musical instrument refresh will include the acquisition of new instruments, as well as repairs and maintenance for existing instruments. This will ensure that students have access to a wide range of instruments, including brass, woodwind, percussion, and string instruments.

The benefits of music education extend far beyond the classroom, and students who learn to play instruments are likely to carry these skills and experiences with them throughout their lives.  Overall, the musical instrument refresh project is a valuable investment in the future of students across the district. It will help to promote academic success, creativity, and social and emotional well-being, while also providing students with a fun and engaging extracurricular activity.
